Time to cultivate herbs
by Leslie Perrin
The summer heat is approaching quickly so start cultivating your herbs. Direct sun for more than two hours in the summer is too harsh on most herbs. So, if your herbs are in containers, move them around to a location to keep them happy and thriving. Don't forget, clay pots dry up quickly so water more frequently.
Cut back your basil, lemon balm and mint and make a variety of summer herbal delights. You can use all three herbs sparingly to add a hint of cool summer in a spring mix of salad greens.
